Actually, she was right there. Schneider's policy is that you cannot use line 5 beyond your 70. They made that very clear to me in orientation, and after the fact. Stupid rule, but many of their rules at stupid.

Line 5 does not count towards your 70 or your 11. The elog will only count down your 14 on line 5.

We were told as long as you have hrs on your 14, which is also bs. Screw DOT, screw contract law, screw what's just plain the right thing to do, we're big orange so what are you gonna do about it?

Got that Schneider internet troll rats?

There's a reason line 5 is there, its your truck and fuel to do with as you please when not under HOS restrictions. Even DOT gets this.

Just like the split sleeper rule, FMCSA gets that a driver needs some flexibility to get proper rest AND take care of themself and get the job done, not at big orange though.... cause drivers are too stupid to figure it out. That's SNI's stance driver, you're just too dumb.

Funny you say that because that was my argument to them Per contract and I was told either do empty move or book freight from where I was. The empty move was in my pre assignment or else I'd of done just that.

They said it upto the Box Planner and they no longer can just remove an empty move.

I booked freight instead of moving empty for free.

Again she is not right. I've been here since elogs started and since I've been an IC choice driver almost 2 years and counting every week I drive home on line 5 with no 70 left and have never had an issue.

Your 70 never changes on line 5 so them telling you that is just them trying to again control us like a company driver.

After I've delivered my final load, I'm either free to do as I wish or I'm dictated to do as they say like a company driver it's one or the other but SNI wants it to be both!

They told me, this was in 2013, that we could in no way use it beyond our 14 or 70. There were only 3 of us IC's in orientation, but it was a debated topic. Started with the guy teaching orientation, then our future ICA came in to verify, and it got brought up once again with the Safety lady.

I've been called out for violating it a couple times.

Well, after trying to explain to them what the agreement says and them not wanting to follow it. Then I would just do the Qualcomm shuffle.
