Miles are the enemy. Miles = fuel, repairs, and and more risk overall. My goal is to drive as few as I can for the same $ amount as the previous year. Down to 44,000 last year.
Pop quiz. If everything is equal. Who made more profit in the long term?
The guy that grossed $225,000 on 130,000 miles?
Or the guy that grossed $125,000 on 44,000 miles?Bpat, CJndaTruck and Al. Roper Thank this. -
I average about 10k/month or 2500/week, but I'd say 10-20% of that is personal. I use my truck as my pov when at home and use it as an rv when not under a load.
CJndaTruck and Bpat Thank this. -
Between last Saturday and yesterday I put in 3400 miles and just over 68 hours on my 70 all on e logs.

According to my last 3 quarterly bonus checks, I've been averaging about 10,000 monthly

Well it sounds like the OP is trying to figure how much money he is going to earn running the big miles at a Mega?
I remember when I was at a mega. Their was like 13 of us in orientation even thought jobs were hard to come by. The second day in, one guy got a call from a "friend" offering him a job running dump truck for a asphalt company. The consensus in the room was that taking that job would be a real rip, after all you don't get many miles driving dump truck. Apparently all the geniuses that apply for a job at a mega have the recruiter BS them into thinking miles are the way to make money.
I asked the guy for his "friends number." He asked, "why?" I said, " while you fools count up your miles, I will be going to the bank with $28 and hour + overtime, for each and every hour I am at work." You know the gratefulness of this guy; he called his friend back right then and there. At least he thanked me as walked out of that orientation.Tug Toy Thanks this. -
I run the same route 5 nights per week. Works out to 2180 miles per week but I'm not paid by the mile.
Bpat Thanks this.
