Sometimes it doesn't work. We adopted a second dog for our Cody and after one week we had to bring her back to the shelter, because the dogs started fighting and the new adoption was digging under the fence to escape. A few weeks later we adopted a puppy and he's now with us for about one year and it works great!
I think for the safety of Hooligan it was the best and hope he found a good home now.

Its going to be tough finding the right dog for truck life. Maybe an older dog will fit in better.

I think you you might have find a pup that is a mellow lap dog that doesn't need to run all the time.

You're both right. Luke was a pup when he first came out but content to run around once or twice a day. He was quite mellow most of the time. It's all about the individual's temperament. Hooligan was a great companion but not really content in the truck.

Sitting in dock at Glazers in San Antonio waiting to unload. Gotta pick up this afternoon at Savvy Vodka in Dripping Springs (near Austin) and get it to Atlanta by 1400 Wednesday. Tricky part is I'm only picking up 3 hours tonight.

Once I scan this trip in I'll have close to 2800 miles for the week. Beats the heck outta the $155 paycheck I got last Friday. Five days in shop for a two hour repair (igniter on bunk heater out) with no pay, and they told me I had to pay for a hotel because of my wife. My considerable capacity for BS has been exceeded, again. Gotta be some kind of record.

The good news is, I may have finally untangled what has been forcing me to stay put. I'll know for sure later today, but I'm pretty sure I now have a viable exit strategy.

This place has gone sharply downhill in the year since I left.

Breakfast at TA in New Braunfels, best buffet I've seen in years. The experience was marred a bit by their having the thermostat set on "meat freezer."

Too cold to even poop in here. I'm going back to the truck.

I've always found that a nice warm cab is the best place to poop ever.
