I just spoke with my ICA and it is confirmed that they will no longer allow IC's use the company car because according to my ICA the lawyers are saying because we're technically not employees are Schneider we're not entitled to use the company vehicle... I just called to confirm with what @redoctober83 stated.

There is a thread by Miss Elve, she tried CC and white glove and left because of no $$ and unfavorable bidding process. So your saying the bidding and new board is good?

I read that thread . She was mistaken on a lot . Like the age of truck ( it can be ten years not two ) and the trailer rental ( there is none ). She's the third ' driver for an owner ' that I've met that is unhappy and uninformed . Could be the owner not telling the whole story ? There's always been a load offer system but I like it . Gives you the freedom to accept or decline . You can check to see how many of your unit type are available at any check in center and how many are dispatched or sitting . They still send load offers or you can surf the board and grab one . Difference being if you accept an offer you might lose the bid which has only happened to me twice or if you click on the load board you auto win the load

Thanks for the info, I team with my wife and always thought CC/Fed Ex would be a good fit for us, but I read that and it did sway me. I don't plan on doing anything until after the election next year anyways, and hopefully things pick back up. We're leaving for orientation Monday for a smaller company that hauls pharm. We left our other job only after 3 months, (hated them!) and I don't want to job hop. Not much info on this company, I'm a little worried, hopefully this isn't a mistake.

I'll second that! Actually I prefer Jersey Mikes, but JJ isn't bad. WAY better than Subway. I think I've eaten Subway may 2-3 times in the last year. Hate that place.

My wife is weird, when we're driving, I tell my wife let's order JJ and have them meet us at the exit. We won't have to find a shopping plaza to park. NO she says, once they know we're truckers they will mess with our food. Huh? They deliver to all sorts of workplaces, why would they do that? She is adamant that our food would be tainted, so I have to go park....

I've been to a Sheetz truck stop in Virginia... now that was great! Big menu on computer screen with made to order food.
Unlike Flying Peelot Pizza thats been sitting there half the day and the same old $8-$9 Vomitway Sandwiches. Ugh

Gezz what's next.. ICs won't be allowed to use company showers because we're not employees? :biggrin_25513:

Whatever... as long as those Lawyers dont try putting a Camera in my truck I'm cool.

Guess that means they can't make you move trailers around for free then right? Can't have it both ways. All trailer moves should come with a fee attached.
