Right around the 2012 model is when they switched from DPF only to trucks with DEF. I had a 2011 387 that was DPF, best truck ever (I put 350k on her myself, she was over 500k and 0 mechanical issues. I was getting 8.5 mpg without even trying), but it was one of the last 387s to roll off the assembly line. PB made the switch to DEF and the 587 took over for the 387. So the 2011/12 models are 1st Gen DEF, will likely not have the bugs worked out. The same goes for 2007/08 1st Gen DPF motors.

 

Yellow paint? I thought that was CAT. All the Cummins motors I've ever seen are red, maybe thats his problem.

 

Yeah, I started doing the math the other day. I was thinking about returning my T680 sometime this year and buying a W900. Then once I figured I could cut my payment in half, but I would spend nearly the difference in fuel plus have the added maintenance costs, I have started rethinking it. I guess it wouldnt be bad if I got another aero truck, but that's not what I want, so I may as well keep paying Quality.

 

well maybe I mis understood him. He did tell me 400k I might have just thought it was when he got it. Doesn't matter. It isn't under warranty.

What???? What if you could your payment in half with aero truck, but you will continue to pay quality for an aero truck. ? Because you want a w9, hmmm, I got to think that one over.
