So when SNI manipulated the load from you. Did you confront SNI about it. If so what did they say?

If you can't live on $50k a year that's your problem. I can pay for a house, cars, save for retirement, all while being home every night. If you work non stop a day will come where you'll regret all your lost time working. I know. I seen my dad wither away and die. Do you think he wished he worked more about on his death bed? No. He wished he did more of his bucket list.

Very good info, thank you very much for sharing.
Further reinforces that % isn't what it's made out to be, in fact it's somewhat of a scam.
The scary part is that the scam % is still better than most other lease carriers that pay on mileage, you know the .90 or so plus FSC. That is downright this disgusting.
For me I'm not ready to have my own authority and be dealing with brokers, that time may come but not now.
Even though Schenider messes around the money is still better than most and similar to some other carriers that i could lease on for doing Van. So for now I'm content.... though for $3.83 I'd go to Uxbridge everyday lol

I want to say this. IC's are not competing with other IC's. We are competing with Company trucks. The high dollar freight goes on company trucks.

Or the ICs could be hauling high dollar freight and not even know it because the logistics side took 80% off first lol

    There's nothing you can do.
You either refuse the load or accept, you have no say unless they want the load moved.
That's when the real negotiation begins, but that's rare.
I will say that Schneider Logistics is easier to deal with then most.
They know from SNI how things work at certain customers,so you have some rate negotiation with detention.
If a drop turns into a live unload, get out the check book.

As for competing with company trucks, that's pretty much a given.
The really good loads never hit the Choice boards, especially when freight is slow.
I've run into quite a few Choice guys, most are clueless.
But every now and then you talk with one who sees how things work.
And don't get me wrong,I am not saying I have the answers to everything Schneider.
But remember I've been where you are now.
So here's a few words of advice, take them as you will.
Voice your concerns to your ICA's,they give feedback to corporate.
Don't just shrug your shoulders and say that's how it goes.
It's your business and lively hood.

    Good luck to all.

You are exactly right. As long as they know the demand is to be on their board, SNI sees no reason to do anything but make it better for them.

And I know I've said it before as well, but my biggest concern with any load is how profitable is it for my business. When I know that the other said of the contract isn't doing the right thing though, it really does bother me. Now I didn't say they were doing anything illegal with their rate manipulation, its just underhanded and greedy.

It will come back on them though in the end, it always does. It might take years or even decades, but they will pay their bill one way or another. Maybe someone in GB should go take a course in history, and pay special attention to what happens to corrupt organizations, especially those that appear so successful from the outside.

You realize you can't construct a decent sentence to save your life right? I'm just sick of hearing everyone on here say it like you HAVE to go OTR or you'll never get a job. I've never spent one night in a truck, make more than enough to pay all of my bills plus some, and am able to be home every night to spend time with my loved ones. I could understand otr if it was good pay. But it's not. Everyone I talk to says they'd be lucky to make $1,000 a week. So in conclusion go suck a lemon.

Some customer's have specifically told SNI they do not want ICs hauling their freight, so it doesn't get put on the board. Some freight, while it may look like regular DV TL freight, is actually on a different line of business, so we don't see that either.

They also have lurkers that watch what gets put online. So by us discussing things here, it gets to corporate as well.
