If you live near Columbus, OH
.... Check out some ltl carriers like Dayton or Holland, Estes, ABF
These gigs are almost always a day shift M THRU F by the clock usually starts at $20 hrly OT after 40, home every day
I've learned that paid by the mile or flat rate usually doesn't end up good for any driver....... by the clock you are paid for every thing you do
specialized express, columbus, ohio

Before Doug and Marci Got Specialized Express up and running they worked for another company ( Artic Express) which they completely ran into the ground and the owner was able to get the right people in there to save that company from bankruptcy...Specialized Express is a horrible place to work, Doug is a complete ### and Marci is a real #####. The trailer I was pulling one day had super singles on it and a blowout happened in 100 degree weather and the only thing they were worried about was the rim and the trailer and piss on the driver and the load, from that moment on there was nothing but problems after problems and eventually I brought their truck and trailer back to him and quit on the spot... I had to hire an attorney to get my DAC report cleaned up because Marcy was mad that I gave no notice... I worked there for 6 months and got to go home 3 times... I have completely given up Over The Road Trucking and I'm a local driver and I'm much much happier

Just by the way you guys describe how they operate tells us

I left there the other week. My Truck had 10,700 miles on it when I got it. I put 19,000 more it.
Truck was the most comfortable Truck I ever been in while it was *sitting still*. And she was a very pretty Truck.
I got *plenty* of quality rest while there too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. My Girlfriend really missed the Hell out of me and showed me a lot of affection once I *finally* got Home to Her.
Only being able to fuel at Loves, I got a whole lot of Reward points with them!
Gave them my word I wouldn't say anything negitive on the open Internet. So........... -

Just wasn't a good fit for me. I don't like dealing with Brokered Loads 80% of the time.
I may enjoy a 12 hr break, but 12-18 hr breaks almost everyday was to long for me.
Averaging $800/wk was to low a check for me. Anything under $1,200/wk isn't worth my time.
When I agree to work somewhere, I uphold my end and expect others to uphold theirs. I.E. Time Off, miles, equipment issues ect...
Few few other minor things I wont mention because I can't 100% prove I was misled.
I'm not going to say they are a bad Company, as I was only there a short bit. But I can say they were not a good fit for what I require a Company to be for me.
If one likes OTR, being out extended periods at a time. And are use to Mega Carrier pay, restrictions of fueling and routing with little expectations of much more, then I do believe a person would be very happy there.
The other man hired on with me loves it. But he's a kiss butt, if you know what I mean. He even made them a FB page and runs it for them!!!! LOL!
I wish them the best of luck with their new Company. -
Lmao ok thx bro . Yea it took me 2 trips to realize that I was only going to make 800 a week here and your right not enough money. I'm starting to see that they don't go out west like they claimed. I asked for a west run and I was told as long as they have work there they have never seen one of those loads lol.
