I've heard they have to strip their trailers when they get back from doing their pickups, but they don't necessarily have to work loading outbound linehaul trailers. (P&D drivers)

I am supposed to start my day at 9 am., but eff that I get there an hour earlier and load my own trailer, that way I know where I'm going and load it up systematically so that I don't have to be wasting so much time driving in traffic going back to a city I was just in an hour earlier. -

Now, I can't speak for how each terminal is run, so another DF driver could say his barn does things a little differently. There are times I wish I had been the one to load my route to avoid backtracking like you mentioned, but I doubt I'd ever be excited to jump on a forklift after running around the city all day.
It wouldn't be so bad unloading my own trailer, I just wouldn't want to deal with loading outbound linehaul trailers. I'm just not that good on a forklift. Our dock workers can perform surgery with those things!Mike2633 and Giuseppe Ventolucci Thank this. -
