been doing some research myself in the sac. area as i live 3 hours a away and will be attending truck school the end of the month. Haven't found much so far. Hendrickson,
1 year exp. JB hunt not hiring in CA. Schnieder not hiring in northern ca. England, not
    hiring in ca. etc.
About the only companies i have found that hire newbies around here is Werner,
    Gordon, Systems Transport, and KLLM.

The best of luck to you. Seems like i am just a few months behind you.

Well, this is interesting - but of course the recruiters I've seen so far ALL

    SORRY. typing error.

ALL have terminals in ATL. But after talking with Crete, they said - "said" that they don't have a prob. with me living in the NorCal area. They have a drop yard in Stockton...

So, I may sign with Crete. Probably will if they'll take me.

I also noticed you didn't mention Swift. But, I guess that one goes without saying huh?

I suppose I may have (like most) just suck it up for 6 mo. to a year till my options improve. No surprise at all.

I can tell ya - if you lived in ATL. jobs are a sinch. Everybody pulls freight thru here.

    Thanks again for the input.

HEY!! ALL YOU CA. DUDES GETTN' READY TO SPEND BIG DOLLARS WITH A SCHOOL IN SAC!!

My buddy went to Sacramento Foodlink and got his CDL for bout' $165.00!! Took him like 18 weeks cause its some kind of Gov. program but still. CHEAP!

Nice. Mine was free here in GA. cept' for drug screen and physical. Can't complain for sure. 8 weeks too. Gettin alot of time behind th' wheel.

Hey, let's stay in touch. Should be (should) out in Sept. hopefully.

It's hard for me to believe that they won't have recruiters coming thru that school with more options, but i dunno. Keep me updated on your progress if you can.

    Indeed.

That's a big difference. We had recruiters coming thru our school like crazy. But I guess that's the difference when you live in a major freight hub.

I'm just hoping I'll be able to get a job when I get there if Crete doesn't fly. Bout' to find out.

All the best to ya! Look forward to hearing about your experience at school...

I would stay far, far away from Hendrickson Trucking in Sacramento! Unless you're independently wealthy and you don't need a pay check, then live it up, otherwise working for for them is like slave wages! keeping you away from home. If you need a 34 hour reset the dispatcher will be have one of the team drivers finish their 34 in the truck NOT at home!
There current SCAM is to team up people in a New Kenworth Single Bed Sleeper truck you will average 650-700 miles in freight per day. Something a Solo Driver could almost obtain. They will not pay you for your Orientation- Training time and you will not be compensated for any wait time or standby time waiting for a Shipper or to meet another truck Driver to drop & hook.
