As of right now I'm only interested in CAT or N14 only. How ever,.. I cant rule out a 12.7 Detroit if the price were right. I believe the N14 would offer close to the power I enjoy with the CAT yet offer very respectable fuel mileage that you could expect from the small Detroit.
I'm expecting to have an inframe done before registering the truck. The age of the trucks I am looking at will have between 1.5 - 2 million+ miles. Being that I dont trust people in general,.. I will most likely end up rebuilding every piece of the truck to have the peace of mind that I am looking for in a truck that I will most likely be running till the day I retire.
I am mechanically inclined,.. but I'm also a wuss when it comes to stuff I dont know about. I'd rather pay someone who knows what they are doing. Try to observe as much as I can. Ask questions,.. then I may or may not attempt it on my own next time it happens.
How do I tell the difference between the AG400 and AG200? Is it a model specific thing,.. specific years? Or just a spec option?
Again,.. thank you so much for the help.

Hey hurst I'll be delivering in Belcamp MD friday morning. I'll get to Baltimore about 6 to 7 pm tomorrow. Do you have a good parking spot north of Baltimore you might want to share with me? I know you're the king of unconventional parking spots.
-
How bout this @Hurst ? -
Oops wrong trans and gears. but whats another $10k and, it would all be fresh from cluch, 13 spd and gears of your choice?
-
You forgot a paint job too. That one hurts my eyes.
PeteyFixAll, Hurst and Tug Toy Thank this. -
There is a T/A off O'donnell at I95. It will be pretty full by 7pm,. though if your comfortable doing a 90 between 2 other trucks,.. as most in that area are too afraid,.. you'll get a spot. The only catch is you need to spend $20 inside or pay $20 to park over night.
Close by,.. if you cut out on to O'Donnell and go up the hill where it says no trucks over 3/4 ton,.. (Everyone goes up that hill). Make your first right,.. thats Broening Hwy. Follow that for approx 1.5mi till you get to the port entrance,.. the first one will say no loads,.. the next entrance has a traffic light. Thats Dunhill rd. Youll see a sign that says Free Escorts. On the other side of the RR tracks there is a large concrete lot you can park in,.. plus a few more behind it as well.
Farther north up 95 you have a couple options. Just north of where the T/A is,.. the next exit is for Lombard st. Take that exit,.. turn right at the light and just before the bridge is Ponca St. Turn left and then turn right onto Oldham st. There is a recycling center there,.. you can park on the side of Oldham by the Recycling center there as long as you get up before 8am you should be fine.
A few miles north up 95 is a rest area in the middle,.. Left exit. Like T/A,.. it fills up fast. Depending where you need to be,.. I can probably come up with another dozen places to park.
EDIT:
Just realized you said Belcamp. Jump on 95 N and right there like 1/2 mi up on your left is that rest area/service plaza I was telling you about.

I'll be repainting the truck anyway (Gasp,.. I know right?) Dark Shadow Metallic grey or Deep Ocean metallic blue are the colors I am thinking of. Probably end up flipping a coin.
But not sure about the C. I read that for any hope of fuel mileage,.. the 3406-E was the way to go. Wrong trans,.. I really dont care for a 15 spd,.. 3.73 wrong gear as well. Long WB with the 86 Studio sleeper. As much as I would probably love the room in a 86" Studio,.. I think the smaller 72" sleeper would be as large as I would want to go. I'll be adding a headache rack,.. so I will need as much room between the 5th wheel and headache rack as possible. Larger sleeper would probably rob what ever catwalk space there is with a 275" WB.
I would really need to be able to scale a W9 with the 86 Sleeper before I could really rule it out or add it as a possibility. I'm pretty sure it would add too much weight.
