    Screw u, rookie. LOL.

I'm Texabamian. My address is just north of Mobile, but I am pure Texan. Lived most of my life in Texas.

I'm at the yard, now in anot her truck. Went from 1554 to 1542. Hopefully this one has been treated better, and isn't one previously driven by MD. LOL.

If you are new to trucking, then 3 days. If you have some experience, then 2 days, pass a driving test and get a truck,

Just landed a prehire from Abilene - I can't do anything for a few weeks until my apartment lease is done, but they definitely have my attention.
I have 5 years experience, the last 4 being local out of Baton Rouge.
I know you folks have forced dispatch to NYC, no APUs but allowed to idle....
Tell me why I should work for AME?

My cajun friend, I can honestly tell you that there are no great trucking companies to work for out here. I have worked for PTL, Ozark and now AME. Abilene has their issues, but for me, it has been a learning curve to the Abilene way. Communications is the biggest issue with AME. They have a VERY small administration, meaning that several people wear multiple hats in the company. That means less overhead, but also, we drivers are mushrooms at times. They don't normally pre-plan. I'm still not used to that. They have an EXCELLENT health insurance package. And, if you like to run, you will. Not constantly, but you will run. You have more experience than I, but, I can say that Ozark and Abilene are the lesser of evils to work for. Honestly, Ozark has a MUCH nicer driver lounge, or building. But, if you are a runner, you won't see it much. I suggest you research both. I came to Abilene because, 1) automatic trucks that are nicely equipped(except for the lack of APUs.) And 2) I don't live in Ozark's hiring area. I have bad knees that make the autos a virtual must.

The folks at Abilene are MUCH nicer, to your face, anyways. Not that I've experienced such nonsense, but I have seen it in others.

I hope I was able to give you some insight.

So far, I moved to the Flying J at exit 104 on I95 for a 34hr. During the trip, I noticed the speed is faster than my old truck. \o/ The CB tray won't stay locked in. And the fridge door seems to not want to stay closed in a left turn. Minor things, like no satellite radio antenna. But Pandora until I get through home base to pick up my satellite module. Not too bad for a slightly more mileage truck. Fresh PM. New tires. We will see. Overall, more used, but seems to be in better shape than the other truck. So, I'm gonna call it a night. Eat dinner, take meds, and hit the bunk.

Peace and God's love to you all, and may He bless you with safe travels and many miles!!

@Jermin8r92 - check this company; Abilene. It's not a mega and only 1 or 2 drivers whine.
