Congrats! Just remember on pre-trip to turn on defroster to make sure it works, turn on wipers and make it sprays, fire ext., triangles and brake check are the biggies and are auto fails. Good luck you will really like working here, I've been here 4 months, and enjoy it wish I would have done it 20 years ago.

Yep, and thank you. I've incorporated that into my daily pre-trip so it'll be 2nd hand. I know the gravity of my situation, and will not fail to succeed. Thank you again.

    Was wondering what a 5 & 1/2 & 2 is. Is that a 6/2?

I think you are referring to programs. There are different types, depending on the DC. 5/2 5/3 means work 5 off 2 work 5 off 3. There are 6/3, 5/5 3/2 4/4 programs just to give some examples.

That's the way I ran it for about two years. Unless you log yourself off at every opportunity, you'll only have about a half day to work on day 6. The you have the rest of the day off, then two full days off. It's an eight day rotating schedule.

Ok, that's how I took it as. I'm more or less running my full 70 hrs out, then going home and the end of the half day and getting 2 days off at home, which would eventually rotate my time off to include weekends. Mama will like that.

Everyone on this board has been so helpful. My husband got the job and starts orientation soon. We are beyond thrilled and feel truly blessed. Can anyone tell me if you are still on hourly training pay the week you go out with a mentor? Thanks.

    TomOfTx and noninetofive Thank this.

Don't be nervous. While it is an exhausting hiring process, everyone my husband encountered was very friendly. The entire process from beginning to end was about 2 months for him. He watched you tube videos to prep for his pre trip. This thread is full of so many helpful tips for the pre trip and road test. His background came back within a matter of days as well. I have seen some people say theirs took longer.

My husband starts soon and was told he will be 5/2. He was told this is typical for new drivers at the DC he will be out of.

The week with the trainer is regular mileage pay plus activity pay for the new hire. His mentor is paid ADP.

    TomOfTx Thanks this.
