Cool! Are you gonna be a "white shirt" or a "blue shirt" guy?

Well I aced my pre-trip and my road test. Safety managed told me the best he's seen in the 5 yrs he'd been there, (I'm sure he says that to all the drivers). Wal-Mart's Dr passed me for my 2yr physical, but that's where the trouble started. With that said, I still work out, 3 miles per day, and also lift weights. I'm saying all of this because according to the federal DOT, my BMI (33) is good for a 2yr physical, my BP was 122/70. But, according to Wal-Mart's lawyers, they want a bmi under 30, instead of the fed's 35. I was told it lowered my physical from 2yrs down to 3 months, hence disqualifying me for the position. I was told I could do the sleep apnea testing and everything under my own expense, and re-apply the next time there is an opening, and go through the process from scratch. I follow a strict diet, only meats I eat are chicken and fish, otherwise vegetables and fruit. I'm just a big guy, but not fat at all. I'm sure I'm not the 1st person turned away for this, but I guess I have to laugh, I never thought my "health" would ever disqualify me for a job. I still have a great job where I'm at, so nothing lost. I guess these "tighter" restrictions would've been nice to know in advance, but that's the way it is. I'd like to thank all the guys on here who have been helpful in getting prepared for today, I passed everything I was tested on.

    Sitting
Spring Valley, IL. They said they will not hire me with a bmi over 30. If I was already working there, it'd be a different story, but as a new hire, I have to meet that requirement, then re-apply when they post their next opening, but for now they withdrew their offer. He said the Wal-Mart lawyers decided to make the driver fitness stricter than the feds. I'm still shocked I'm driving home without an offer. Thought all was a done deal.
