I do the family dollar account with hunt. I doubt food service or ltl would give me a problem

I think you'll do fine in what ever path you take, but remember that LTL and Foodservice are different animals than FD. Way more stops on that side of the biz. Not saying Foodservice/LTL is more difficult than FD, just different. All 3 are both demanding and rewarding at the same time.

Hell 2700+ boxes between 2 and 5 stops every day sucks. I keep seeing how food service gets home every night and the fact that physically I am good to do it(I average 450+ boxes/cases a hour) I should be a shoe in for ltl or food service

    Pintlehook and G13Tomcat Thank this.

The only difference between Family Dollar and food service is in food it's all true inside delivery if you work for a broadliner your going to do a lot of walking and some goofy stops where it's going to take a hot minute to get the case off the truck. Now I tell everyone this and I my self am very interested in this and if the logistics were better and the opportunity existed I would split the difference and work for a McDonald's supplier I my self would probably have to consider that job almost as good if not better then what I have now and what I have now is pretty darn good I think.

However the only draw back to McDonald's is it is night and day 24/7 365 never begging for a rain check. Right now McDonald's is out delivering to stores 12:25 am on Sunday morning a McDonald's distributors truck has just left the warehouse to do a route. However, the money is very good and it's pretty modern the way McDonald's does things. If there's a McDonald's supply house in your area you might want to look into it, good pay and benefits, McDonald's is no-nonsense, but may very well be worth looking into. GFS who I work for has a transit position open in TN if it's in your area I would apply right now, because that's rare they would hire off the street for that and that's a job that will go very quickly.

Some places getting food deliveries may or may not be the cleanest places in the world. Friday I took a fireproof dile cabinet to the absolutely filthiest Popeye's I've ever seen. It wasn't that busy either for the time of day it was, so the place must have a reputation.

I'd just like to be home daily without going bankrupt. My area sucks on local pay(averages like $12 an hour with no o/t)

Foodservice or LTL will definitely pay better than that. $12/hr is terrible, I made that in the early nineties.
