I apologize if this doesn't make sense. I've never tried to describe it before. As you pass by the center of the spot you want to set up for, look to the other side for a point of reference directly across from it. Don't turn towards that point too soon or your trailer will need more space to line up. Go just beyond your reference point and then cut hard towards it. The less room you have to work with to get straight, the further beyond that point you go and the tighter you cut your turn back to it. Once you're straight, you should be lined up pretty good.
Don't take my word for any of this though. My ability to back still seems directly related to how many people are watching.
