So being with a bad contractor out of Atlanta, I am still looking for some decent place to truck with out of San Diego area. For the past month at 40cpm I have taken home around $600 weekly with one week being half that and having to pay for my own hotel when the truck broke down, it just sucks.
I have noticed that this contractor had the nerve to tell me I drove 36 miles in one hour and im not driving my miles i should. I said oh did you look at how the truck stays in motion so it must be due to stop and go traffic or road work? They ignored my response and kept attacking me and saying my team driver does 100 miles more than me in his shift when i stop 2 to 3 times in my drive shift while he stops 5 to 7 times and purposely runs his time down. I knew at this point this was my last draw and I see how these contractors are trying to rake in the money for themselves while they push you into getting tickets for speeding through construction or ignoring speed limit signs it seems since they have the nerve to say i only went so far in X amount of time.
Im looking into pacific western now to truck with. Seems ill make about the same pay but running solo. I guess its hard to make $1,000 a week after taxes at the least.

Sir, you are going to lose your Iron Skillet / Country Pride privileges. In order to eat at the counter, you are required to net $1,000/wk minimum and be former Special Forces.
LoneCowboy Thanks this. -
Oh and at Fed Ex, you are required to fill up at every Fed Ex you can as the fuel is discounted and you are only to fill up outside of Fed Ex with just enough to get you to the next Fed Ex fueling location. Yea that means disconnecting from the load you are hauling, then fuel, then hook back up to get on the road.Last edited: Jul 17, 2016

My contractor does not require to fuel only at FedEx locations. He prefers this, of course. I am "extra", like OTR, whenever I need to fuel, I do it on the truck stops. Also, so far, 4 months on this job, I make 1000-1100 net per week. But, as I said in another post, I am looking to move to steady run.

Im looking for any decent contractors out of Temecula, Ca but haven't had any comment to my posts on Craigslist

Edit: you just posted that info ha
Don't know anyone in CA with FXG, sorry. You are already Fedex approved, so switching contractors is as easy as signing some paperwork and starting to drive.
Talk to other drivers at terminals. Let them know you're looking to get away from your current contractor. Word will travel up the line and you could be sitting on a new dedicated route by the end of the week. -
Well im not out of cali but trying to relocate back to cali. Left cali to pursue jobs in my degree for my childrens future and couldn't so i fell back to my class a cdl. Im posting on craigslist like a Driver told me that is where they mostly post. I can say this, there were so many red flags about this contractor but i went for it anyways. One thing they did was flaunt how a guy quit after a week to go to another contractor and they said it happened a few times and they werent releasing them to be picked up by another contractor and i was told by a contractor that they have 3 days to pick you up once released or else the whole entire system kicks you out and restart everything all over from drug screen, application, etc.

If you let it expire you'll have to start the process over again. I think they're good for six months at a time.
