Again my volvo is awesome, doesnt even feel like a job anymore. Its like im on a road trip. Best truck in the lot at the truck stops aside from the custom owner operator pete or kenworth. No more plug in inverter, fridge, rarely do I get passed. Playing some league of legends on my laptop before I hit the sack lol
Redtwin, KD5AXG, MidWest_MacDaddy and 1 other person Thank this. -

Howdy folks. Been seeing a lot of talk (complaining?) About preplanning. I know I'm new here but thought I'd throw my 2 cents in the ring. This is from both my observations, and just plain bussiness sense as a guy who ran one for 32+ years.
Just because we're not getting beeps before we finish a run and send that final end trip, doesn't mean they aren't planning our next move ahead of that. Do we really think they're just sitting around waiting to see who's available and then seeing what frieght is on the board to hand out? I think not ... lol
They know where we are, how we're doing and perhaps most importantly, who we are as haulers. Trust me, based on our runnning this week, they're planning! LOL
Communication is key here. Their system works and very well when followed and used properly. Not that things won't fall through the cracks occasionally but as with any system, garbage in means garbage out and of course, that's on both ends.
I can already see how to maximize my potential here while getting the job done for Abilene.

Well made it to 1st solo drop....pouring rain, construction site with concrete dividers and manholes about a foot above the muddy ground but got in here.
Top two front marker lights out on trailer...pigtail and connections look good on both ends and no amount of jiggling made them flicker. All others work...called breakdown and off to TA 15 moles from here. Hopefully things move so the whole day isnt ruined
