I don't work for Slime, nor would I ever consider it. Make more $$ just doing dry box. Although I've toyed with the idea of doing flatbed.
I understand the average L/O makes about $1100 / wk.
I make $1800 to $2100 with a van and a 34 at the house every weekend when I run regional.
Small company 40 trucks I think. And I can back it with settlements, if any wanna wager a corn dog or two.

But I did my time OTR with big companies. D/Ms and O/Ms are the same as our trucks, some are just great and extraordinarily reliable, some are just lemons.
I fired more than one. Had one for two years that was awesome.(man). Had a woman at same company that was awesome. Had one man there for 2 weeks, gave me a brand new, I mean brand new truck, that was so awful I quit, and the O/M talked me into returning.
I used to think women were better at it, but it doesn't matter, some have it, some don't. It's my life sitting out in the bushes some place, cause they don't have it together. It's not personal, but if I'm going to sit, it will be my own fault or choosing, not because it's 5 o'clock, and I'm a number, amongst 75 other numbers.

I just called and had to ask to be compensated. Had I not asked around I wouldn't have been paid anything. They're paying me for fuel. Anyway prime has been good enough for me. I got the shortest lease I could find and I'll be out of here next October. I'll be looking for a smaller company or something local.

Sorry to burst your bubble but sales does not assign loads , that is a lie that fleet managers tell drivers when they aren't happy with loads , .. now there are some planners that help with preplan but they always check with the fleet manager first.

Your FM should have told you to turn in a trip sheet using the trip number that they dispatched you you with and write TONU all over it lol truck ordered not used , I don't remeber what that pays but it comes from who ever made the mistake wether it was the customer or primes

Very good plan. Very, very good plan. Save your pennies, keep your record clean. I'm not gonna rehash a lot of points that have been gone over and over, but I hope you stick to your plan, cause there is a whole world out there, especially for someone that doesn't F around.
    Good luck.

My fleet manager is always in. He more often than not will have a preplan for me. I'm always going and rarely just sit to wait on a load.

Most of them don't work for Prime. They don't know where they are because they didn't read the sign. :p Truck drivers...

Who told you this? Wtf. I'm assuming there is a pool that fleet managers pull from. I've gotten a load that my fm didn't even know about. I declined it and he said he was looking to take me off of it anyway. I don't think you're correct in that managers pick the loads.

I know I'm correct I've stood at my FM desk and picked my load from his computer screen then he pulled up loads coming out of Atlanta since that's where I was going and I picked my preplan. Fleet managers like to act like it's someone else's fault so you don't cuss at them

Yes sometimes another dispatcher or a planner will throw a load at you that your FM didn't see but 90% of the time if another FM or planner want you to cover a load they send a message to your FM first hey can truck number blah blah cover this load we see he is in the area with hours and then your FM says yay or nay
