Typically, the starter is the culprit. Consider yourself lucky, I've seen ring gears on flywheels go, or even be missing teeth.

Next time, just use a test light. Hokeying around with a screwdriver will do nothing but cause problems.

Test light attached to the solenoid terminal on when the key is turned/button pushed means your wiring circuit is good.

Test light lit when you put it on the positive cable to the main starter body means you have juice to the starter. If the connection is bad, it will spark when you engage the solenoid. Keep your connections clean and check the cables for the length of the path between batteries and starter.

Number #1 cause of truck fires is shoddy connections or frayed main cables to the starter.

Apparently you never had an ISX[ short for I am screwed] let ya down.
I've had several small shops come out to my driver's trucks and get her going with the old screwdriver trick. Now granted, you got to know which one's to connect ! If not---- sparks will fly !!!

That statements confuses me a little. What kind of looks like a starter solenoid on the firewall is actually the starter relay on your truck. The starter solenoid is attached to the starter where you see the big HOT wire.

The little wire on the starter relay is your key hot and only has 12V when the key is turned. One big wire should be a steady 12V hot straight from the battery.

If you turn the key and there is NO 12V on the other relay post going to the starter, then your problem lies between the relay and the battery. Either a bad connection or bad cable. Check the battery connections for corrosion and tightness. Check your chassis ground and your motor ground for the same thing.

If any of the cables are bad, they will usually be broke strands/corroded in the last inch of the cable. Sometimes corrosion will cover each individual strand and you will get 12V with a tester. Put a load on it like a starter and your voltage will drop to zero because it can't carry the current.

I have no power to the relay but I can jump the starter. Any thoughts?

Also I have no power to the fuse box and the key does nothing

Have a 07 international 9200 I with the Cummings isx engine all the sudden it died changed both fuel filters no change it dies when you let off the accelerator pedal thought it might be a fuel issue but will run continuously so long as the cruise control is on any ideas?

Changed ECM with our other truck exchanged foot feed peddles swapped cam sensors checked most all electrical connections what could be causing this truck to die as soon as I turn off the cruise control? Thanks
