Actually, the mass exodus of drivers happened in the first six months after announcing the sale.

While Heartland did all it could to deny this in order to avoid a negative impact on their stock price the truth still remains.

There are very few drivers with Gordon now who were there for over 5 years before the sale.

    drvrtech77 Thanks this.

There seems to be something going on with Your ex company. Either good or bad cause they are not hiring many if any truckload drivers now.

Wasn't aware of that..to be honest i don't keep up with them.

I think they are concentrating more on hiring newbies out of schools and training them.

    What a royal mess.

I'm back to the Sunny Delight drop lot for my pickup that was supposed to be ready at noon Saturday. It wasn't and they told me they wouldn't even load the trailer until today (Monday). So I got here and learned that they are rescheduling all the Saturday loads into an already-packed Monday schedule.

"I'll call you when your trailer is ready, driver; we haven't even assigned a trailer yet."

Oh, boy. So it's back onto the street. Some days...

Ive seen an awful lot more aquatint trucks being driven by small or independent operators than I've ever seen before - and yes,my hey are unique so identification is easy. Gordon, er, I mean Heartland must have gotten rid of a lot of them n the open market.

    It was a good run...until.

Averitt has always been a large regional company; maybe they're just focusing on it more. #dunno
