The Oil industry is scared to death of the future.

    The future is electric.

Tesla is going to be able to build 500 thousand cars a year soon.

Once the big 3 get in on this market , promoted by the openness of patents and technology that Tesla is willing to share, the beginning of the end of oil will have arrived.

The noose around the neck of production of the Tesla has been battery production .

A new automated factory will be able to provide staggering amounts of production soon.

I doubt I will live long enough to see the end of the oil industry as market structure is in place. You really think there will be electric engine running farm tractors, semis and trains? Not to mention a lot of people balking at the idea of change.

What does a Tesla car cost?

I'm thinking their running 80k. Volt was like 45 or 50k....and some humor.. I'm still oilfield...got lucky....

I was at the Chevy dealer today...getting truck serviced.. ( for the anticipated job cut / ride home ) and the dealer sees my truck.....says he will make me a sweet deal on a new one. ( 4wd diesel ) so I take a look.....

2016 High Country, diesel, 4wd , loaded ...$55200 plus tax....now that's not bad for a High Country....and he gets to mine...a 13 LT diesel 4wd...160k....and he offers 18k lol....yeah right. Says mine is worthless and he will have to wholesale it lol....( I told him he could keep it )

Not everybody the thinks oilfield is dead !!

I love our low Canadian dollar. Walked down to the Chevy dealer the other day. $56k for a Plain Jane 2016 4x4 2500HD gasser. Loaded diesels are in the mid $80's.

The new Tesla is 35000. Never needs service , oil changes, air filters , belts hoses etc . Regenerative braking saves wear and tear on brakes.

No exhaust system to rust out . No coolant or radiators to replace .

No rear ends to service no transmissions to replace .
No starters, alternators, or emission pumps and endless emission crap and sensors.

Just 2 electric regenerative motors and controllers and batteries.

The new Tesla SUV will beat A Corvette in acceleration.

250 mile range and numerous super charging stations being strategically placed throughout the US.

1/2 hour to charge for 8 bucks.

Electric Locomotives have been around forever , why not farm tractors or semi tractors.

Lithium batteries have totally changed the game .

You still think this Technology is something to not be Reckoned with.

This is just the Tip of the Iceberg

    Continuous almost unlimited Torque

Yeah but those electric motors don't sound manly like a blown big block V8.

And with that kind of mentality in Aviation we would all be flying around in these yet.

A piston motor is a very inefficient ticking time bomb trying to fly in opposite directions when ever it's running.

Compare a Turbine motor to a electric motor. Just a Few moving parts that are moving in a balanced circular motion.

Aviation's a whole different animal though. Nothing sounds more manly than the whistle of a jet engine.

I thank you for the report.

Some nights I lie awake afraid for our Country.

In times like this I choose to keep preparing and trying to wrap up the last of the debts and work on things to try and be ready for what might come.

These last 8 years have been incredibly tough. Im not looking forward to the next 4. I don't really want to be around for that.
