No you wrote the contract may have expired but the payments have not. So the op is not legally obligated to do anything if the contract expired....that's why there is a contract.

Doesn't matter he still has the payments and crst will see to it he doesn't drive for another company untill it is paid off.If he feels he's in the right then he needs to talk to a lawyer.

The way my contract was worded, it doesn't expire until you ahve completed 8 months of driving with them, not just 8 calander months. The contract also stated that you must be under a load or have completed a load on or after your 8th month. So, just because you left and took home time the week before your 8 months was up and then told them to fly a kite, you never completed the contract. You had to have been under a load or completed a load on or after the date of your 8th month. Then they charge you income tax on the entire loan amount because it wasn't a loan but an advance on wages. Yeah, CRST is pretty jacked up like that.

To the OP, find yourself a good lawyer to make CRST go away or pay them what you owe them. Try and negotiate with them to bring the price down on what you owe them since it's been so long. Good luck!

My first post states the restrictive clause that is in the contract word for word meaning that regardless of employment status 8 months from contract signing it is voided.

The contract also refers back to the pre-employment contract that you siged at the school you went to. The combination of both is the entire contract. Both state that if you leave before the 8 months are up or are terminated for cause, all and the full amount is owed for your training. I highly doubt they have changed the contract especially since they are quoting a JB Hunt case they won under that contract.

But either way, you still must pay in order for them to relase your information to any employer, unless you are willing to wait for 3 years to pass since you left them.

That makes more since.Companies aren't going to let the driver get away without paying. They're far smarter then that.

Guess I'll have to black out sensitive information and upload it but I have read this contract over and over again page for page. They also changed things in the contract since I left when my liecence was revoked.
