I'd load in Rutland on Friday AM and be at the dock in Phoenix at 0600 on Monday, empty out and head for Bakersfield & Ivanhoe and load fruit bound back for Montreal....Sometimes though I'd re-load lettuce in Yuma or grapes in Casa Grande....That was back in the 80's, couldn't run like that now, too old, too much law, too much traffic....Used to always dodge the Banning scales....They were a real pain in the arse, probably a lot worse now....We used to be able to really run back in the day (100+), get out on the 40 with a big horse and really let er go....Once you hit the gateway (St.Louie) things changed quick though....Yeah, we had a lotta fun back then.....

Lost Hills CA to Portland Maine... I did have one convoluted run of almost 4k miles though. Deadhead from Monroe MI to Greensboro, NC then 3 drops in Columbus OH, 3 in Phoenix, AZ, two around LA, and then had to return to Phoenix for a final.

Just Left NY Sundayorning, delivered two stops in Phoenix and I got to Ontario last night. So 2700+ in 4 days. Doing a 34 right now before I head back east tomorrow.

 

Mira Loma CA to Greensboro NC. With a stop in Cleveland OH. 2800 or so.
