The trucking company lawyer (defendant) wants nothing to do with a driver cam. Driver cam does nothing but incriminate his client. Trucking company is responsible for everything the driver does.

Of course the plaintiff lawyer would love the driver cam. It is nothing but evidence against the trucking company. Their is no way the driver cam exonerates a driver. The key here is the plaintiffs lawyer has no say wether that driver cam is in the truck or not. Driver cam is nothing but ammunition for the plaintiff.

Trucking companies have no obligation to "monitor their employees & equipment." They have to prove due diligence and providing a safe atmosphere for the public and employees. It may sound like I am splitting hairs, but by far, I am not. Their is no obligation for a company to monitor every employee all the time. No one can reasonably expect that. Their is a obligation to provide the public with a safe and well trained employee. Their crutch in defending the driver cam is calling it a 'training tool,' when it is really a micromanagement tool. The driver cam is no aid to the lawyer defending the trucking company.

The technology to record drivers have been out for quite some time. The incentive to use this technology hasn't. That incentive is described in my post #32.

They keep saying this because even sheep need to feel comfortable in their environment. Their is a sense of security in your job and privacy, if you feel that privacy is only invaded when 'you do something wrong.' No one thinks they do something wrong so they feel comfortable in that invasion of privacy and that micromanagement will not affect them.

I seriously doubt they watch you LIVE it records but nobody is sitting in an office watching a live feed. They would need to hire a lot of people to constantly watch drivers in real time especially large companies with thousands of drivers.

No they just need an excuse to waste company time. Your safe supervision is always a good excuse for the desk jockeys that prefer not to work.

Always recording in a 12 second loop. If an event triggers the camera, it records the 8 seconds before and 4 seconds after the event. Our cameras( drivecam) do not have wi-fi capability. So no, the cannot watch whenever they want. I have also triggered it myself when a car was jamming his brakes, trying to get me to hit him. Also exonerated one of our drivers charged in an accident.

But just a front facing camera would have exonerated him, no need for the inside camera

No need for a microphone in the cab either.

The microphone is nice for when the camera trips for no reason other then the parameters are set too low to tell them to go suck a ###### dick.
I had a camera on me for about 4 months,

Passenger in the car accused him of being on the phone. I'm not a fan, we have a choice as to whether or not to stay with the company that has driver facing cameras. Very few drivers have left us because of them.

The forward camera will show what happened, the inside camera doesn't matter
