I don't know what the cost of living is in NJ, I'm sure it's pretty high, but down here in Alabama that's #### good wages.

No but most trailers has the company number on it so 4 wheelers can call in about your driving.

You're going to take a big pay cut - are you sure you can deal with that? $1,300 is good money. You aren't going to start out anywhere near that figure as a new truck driver.

You will probaly make anywere from 400-800 per week starting out once in your own truck depends on the company and how you manage your log book.

MGASSEL pretty much said it - it's not the cake and gravy it was when I started driving trucks and you could run as many miles as you wanted. You probably need to take a serious look at your current finances and see if you can afford such a huge cut in pay. Driving semi's is cool, no doubt, but if it were me, I wouldn't even consider it.

Swift is offering me a job but they want me to go through 3 days orientationand then 6 weeks training(with no gaurantee of coming home during this time)at $450 a week,my own truck after that at 36cpm regional/26cpm otr. He's sayin regional gets like 6000-9000 miles a month and otr gets 10000-12000 a month either way it ain't a whole lot of money.I don't know if was unemployed it wouldn't be too bad but right now it would be a big step down, but I need to get a year of driving in to get in with a tanker company or a ltl company.I don't know??????
