Pepsi's not a bad deal, with some time in people do very well there, especially if your plant is union. I've considered a return to beverage before but thinking if I go back to thats kind of work I'd do Foodservice. Ball busting but they make some $$$

It's the company that ate Vitran. Not that they were any prize, but most of the Vitran (and Chris) drivers quit soon after the acquisition.

Idk about Central, but w my company LTL tractors are older because we get them straight from the Linehaul guys. They get the new equipment, we get what they used to drive after a certain number of miles...

Uptime and reliability mean more to me than shiny late model trucks.

Your average mega probably sees more breakdowns than LTL companies - better maintenance management and better drivers means equipment lasts longer and more profit.

In my area, Central just got all 2017 Peterbilts. Trailers are still #### though.

Almost every company has poor equipment?

For Central I'd have to agree, but a lot of these operations are getting better equipment wise. Look at FedEx and Old Dominion. They certainly aren't running what I'd call junk.

Unfortunately, the OT thing is an exemption written into the labor laws, bought and paid for IMO, but that's an argument for another thread.

It's not a "loophole", and no one is "screwing" anyone. Most everyone knows about this going in, and if not, it falls on them for not informing themselves by such means as our little community right here.

Central is bad. But it is far from the worst gig out there. Especially with some of the recent changes. I mean you are going to be worked to the bone for the lowest pay in the LTL division. But it is still LTL pay, and is still M-F with a set schedule.

Also, they are getting new peterbilts that are rumored to run 68 on the pedal, if that matters to anyone.
