How long did it take you guys to get rolling after filling out the application?

    A week, a month?

about 6 weeks. Partly my fault since they were waiting on my go ahead to do the previous employer contact.

The references were fun...I had to practically hold the hands of the folks doing them, Landstar's 3RD party. I had to personally call my previous employers and have them call the reference checkers. The 3RD party folks are done with me at this point and I'm just waiting on Landstar.

What comes next, truck inspection and orientation? Also where to they do the latter?

I had to do the same with the references.

If they haven't told you to drug test yet that will be next. It will cost you $15.

The truck inspection is $65 if I remember correctly. Try to avoid going to a TA shop. They have been rumored to hold a truck hostage for unnecessary repairs. Location for this is up to you, they will give you a list of places near you. The orientation location will depend on where you live.

    zx150 Thanks this.

Upstate, NY is home for me.

TA is not my first choice but our old carrier had us there quarterly for inspections so we at least know the guys here locally.
