I know right! I don't understand it either.

The place i'm at right now made me sign a sheet that says (exact quote) "the personnel at this facility will unload your Freight into our dock. Sort and segregating (if needed) is the drivers responsibility and is consistent with acceptable practices in this industry."

First... It's not MY (our/Magnum's) product. It's YOUR product. You're welcome for bringing it here for you. Anyway i don't think it will be an issue. If they want me to do something I'll just do it and move on with my life and keep making more money. But this thing i had to sign did make me chuckle.

I don't 'get' the whole lumper thing either. But honestly... Who gives a ####. It's the way it is. The most I have to do is stand in a second line for a few minutes and fill out a Tcheck....

I really enjoy the places where you go in one time to check in & they come out and get the check then come back with your paperwork. I'm not lazy but I just hate dealing with someone that hates their job more than once.

Blame our tax laws. The Shipper Actually Pays Our Company Who In Turns Charges The Receiver That Much More For The product. Thus making it less of a tax liabilty.
I once picked up a load in Wisconsin took it took Orange CA dropped the trailer. Picked up same trailer same product and took it back. The guy told me it was inventory time and if it was in transit it wasn't inventory. It was cheaper to pay the freight bill than the taxes on it.

Got to my delivery last evening in Melrose Park IL... Could see the Sears Tower from there... (That's too close to Chicago)They were totally disorganized and one of 'those' customers the @supersnackbar talked about. But no sweat... I earned an extra $45 bucks in detention, made my pick up on time in Aurora IL headed to NC. Stopped in Spiceland to enjoy a steak dinner on the Reciever.... Easy 500 mile day tomorrow into Winston Salem NC... And a good night sleep tonight....
Still waiting to hear what Jeremy has in store for me for Friday....
Hopefully steal a night of two at home.....

That's not extra pay. That's lost revenue and time that you'll never get back.

Better than sitting in a truck with no inverter, fridge, apu or tv. Not to mention if the temperature is a certain temp no idle. I'll take that lost revenue any day of the week or the before mentioned.

It's extra to me... Yes.... I sat at the Reciever for 5 hrs after appt time.... But I was paid $15 an HR after the first 2.... So I made $45 bucks.... And still made my pickup on time..... Only a dimwit would complain about that...
Course I was pissed at the time..... Cause I'm dumb....
And I'm eating this right now on the shipper.... So I ain't mad no mo
