Thinking Purex and Amazon owe me a commission check. Lol. My local grocery (HEB here in Texas) had them last time I needed some.

Laundry pods were made just for our job. Compact, convenient and simple. A fair bargain when you buy the large size.

I've found that shower shoes are far more trouble than they're worth. Not only is it a pain to carry wet sandals around, but in my experience fungus is much more likely to grow on them than in the showers anyway, unless you're really good about letting them dry out ASAP. Each shower at the big chain truckstops (TA/Petro, Pilot/Flying J, Loves) get cleaned ten times a day at least, so even if they're just getting a half-### cleaning each time, that's still more than enough to keep the germs at bay. I've always been wary about foot fungus, but I've never had any trouble at all from truckstop showers. And the biggest problem I've had with doing laundry at truckstops has been pet hair in the machines.

As far as laundry, one nice thing about Pilot/Flying J is that you can pay for it with your rewards card at most of them now—easier than getting quarters and doesn't cost you any "real" money. Pilot/Flying Js almost always have laundry machines, as do most TAs and Petros; Loves' almost never do.

Loves also has the fewest showers, and they don't have dedicated shower staff—the cashiers have to do it, so you'll almost always have to wait for a shower there. Everywhere else, just try to avoid the morning and evening rushes and you shouldn't have to wait for a shower.

Oh yeah, I stopped bringing white or light colored clothing with me on the road, because there are far too many opportunities to get dirty out here and I've ruined too many clothes. I keep myself and my truck clean, but no matter what you do, you're gonna get dirty on occasion. Not having to separate laundry also makes things much easier and cheaper.

I would use it. I already take my underwear and socks into the shower and soap them up then lightlly wring them out and everything gets curled up with my dirty shirt for the wash later. The soap that is suspended in the socks/underwear reactivates in the washing machine cycles and they come out cleaner that way.

*starts to think about why scottied's underwear would require extra effort to come clean beyond 30 minutes in a washer... instead I get up and dust the dash off again today*

Henley, Lepton1 and scottied67 Thank this.
