Food is an addiction for me. I love to eat and it shows up in my waistline. I dropped 36lbs last year and have gained most of it back due to poor eating habits. That being said, when I was on the health kick I'd try to limit myself to about 1500 calories/day. Lunch would consist of turkey sandwiches made with the low calorie bread (pretty tasty actually), grapes, and an apple. To satisfy the sweet tooth, I'd eat ONE "fun sized" Snickers or 3 Musketeers bar.
I'd do a smoothie for breakfast and generally a salad for dinner, the plan worked for me. Just need some motivation to start the darn diet again!
What do you guys normally eat for lunch?

So like meat and cheese and lettuce is alright, fruit is okay as well, just try to eliminate the carbohydrates and sugars and stuff like that, alright good deal.

The problem is I think if I don't eat all day I tend to get home want to eat then eat diner 1-2 hours later, I'd like to break that eating after work habit and over eating at the end of the day.Bob Dobalina and Big Don Thank this. -

What I do is pack my lunch from the house the night prior. It's either left overs from dinner, a couple sandwiches, or something of that sort. I always throw in something sweet and fruit as well to snack on throughout the day. I am looking to drop all the weight that I put on after the Army by sitting my rear in a truck and just holding the steering wheel! lol.
If you are serious about getting healthy, calories, sugars and salts is what you have to watch on your intake. Yes, as "its all the same coming out", it will stay and effect your body in different ways. If you want to help with you blood pressure, Salts and dumping calories will help drastically. I would cut out or replace and sweet drinks and go from there. Removing soda out of a diet can drop 2-3 lbs alone for a couple months.
I did a lot with weight loss and health fitness when I was active duty and threw it out the window when I got out because I didn't give a rats behind what happened to myself. I am now regretting that and kicking my rear back in gear.
One thing you need to know is things will be different for EVERYONE! So what works for one person, your body may act a totally different way if you take their advice on how they did it. You just need to take some time and figure out what works for you. For instance, if you worried about B/P, and your adjusting your diet, stop by the walmart or drug store and use one if their b/p cuff testers. The only thing with that though, is make sure you do it 3 times with a couple minutes in between and average it. Those things are not always calibrated the best. If you know of a EMT or nurse or someone that is knowledgeable taking b/p than that would be your best bet.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Also, contrary to popular belief, if you do not already have a high metabolism, missing meals is your WORSE enemy! if you are in a, or feel like you are in an unhealthy lifestyle, you should definitely increase your meals to at least 2 a day and a couple snacks to keep your body functions in motion throughout the day and keep your metabolism moving.

Watch out at the end of the day, though. I almost always pack leftovers to eat when I get to my hotel, and then it seems like I'm a bottomless pit.
