Well how does she even KNOW what her cholesterol is? She needs a blood test for that, and I'm pretty sure doctor's have to right an Rx for one.

I understand her reluctance to take ANY drug, unless it is absolutely needed. But your dad is right, sometimes we just need to get help with stuff. And when you are talking about stuff that affects the heart, well, all I can say is that about two years ago, I had to have open heart surgery. I won't go into the gory details, but if she can prevent that ever having to happen, she will be much better off. I went through some time there, where I literally prayed to the good Lord to take me. Thankfully, he ignored me....

Well Hell! Seems I've got some 'puter problems here. I posted the above once, but it showed up twice. Then wouldn't let me in to edit the second one. Just shut it down for a few, and now it lets me in. SOOOOOOOOO Being as that is the case, I've got a screen shot to show you, that with my sick mind, I kind of thought was funny...[IMG]

Well she had a doctor and I say had who offered cholesterol tests as a "value added service" that particular doctor though was not a heart doctor and once the information and data was collected they were of no help at all as far as advising goes and what to do.

I told her I said you need to go to the right doctor for this stuff I don't go to the foot doctor and ask him to perform open heart surgery. At any rate she learned her lesson on that one especially this last go around. These Jamoc's took way way way way way to long to get her test results back and the service the office provided was pretty much garbage so she said I'm through with this doctor.

I said to her, when I had to get my colonoscopy at age 24 yeah I know that sounds a little young for that kind of "procedure", but family genetics sometimes flare up any how I didn't go to the regular doctor I went striaght to the gastroentorologist and they were not very happy that I skipped there buddies in line ($$$$) however they did see me and sure enough I was right and they diagnosed and treated the problem correctly.

So basically what she did was went to a place that offered nothing more then hey get your blood drawn here will send it to the lab then give you the results, but after that your on your own...

I rarely stop for lunch. Normally i make a couple sandwiches in the morning to keep near me and graze during the day. Add in a banana and a few handfuls of nuts or trail mix. And I'm good to go till dinner time. In the warm weather dinner is usually a couple chicken breast wiped in romaine lettuce. In the cold climates its chilly or a beef pot roast or stew that's been simmering in the crock pot for 6 to 8 hours.

    I'll be right over. Lol
When I'm on the road I usually grab whatever I can eat on the fly that doesn't gross me out too much.
When I'm at home I buy the healthy stuff like chips and cream puffs. I think my kids are trying to get me to eat healthier because they always disappear. I think they are throwing them away.
