SLC terminal last night.

Have been needing to get "crapmaster" APU in to a terminal last 2mos, and was first opportunity. Been running nearly all hot areas most of that time & have been sweating it out terribly when stopped. No fun in 90-100+F.

Called ahead over 700mi out to see how backed up they were. "Earliest we can get you in is 0200 tonight". Fantastic! Going to be there about 2400-0100 & will be there awhile waiting to deliver in AM around the corner. Might be a bit of time before we get redispatched, too. Put me on list for 0200.

Arrive and go let them know we are there, and see how far they are running behind, as is typical. "I don't have you on my list for today. Oh, I see you are on the list for 0200 the FOLLOWING night. "

You've got to be kidding me! Any chance of getting me in, since I WAS there when they said they could get me in & it WAS their screw up. Maybe between something else? "We'll do the best we can".

Think it ever got in? Nope. Going to have to continue sweating it out. Sure would like them to spend even just a few days, let alone a couple months, in one of these sweat boxes in the temps we contend with. Might get a new perspective & understanding of what we endure out here at times.
Wishfull thinking....... I know. LOL

In friona tx. Have come to realise all cargill plants can never get loads done in time.
Supposed to swap wit someone in ok city. But now have to wait cause they took to long and my 14 has ran to long. Hate when I have to do 8-2 split. Wares me out but got to do what I can to get the load where it has to be.

 

More like between 0200 tonight and February

Seriously, some times you luck out. But, yep.....lot of times they push that window & DDT.

The beef, pork, & chicken places are most prevalent w/this. Some are better than others, and some actually aren't too bad. You will get to learn which particular one's are most notorious.

Certain places I've learned to arrive late in window, or really, really early to stop clock early enough to either get my time back, or do a split sleeper berth.

Then, of course......you have some of the produce places in Cali & AZ/TX border. Sometimes you'll think you might be better off changing your mailing address & residency there while you wait! LOL

 

West Memphis, AR at the J. Parked up all by myself. Student informed me that he would be getting off here at our fuel stop. He has decided he had enough of being away from home and he quit. So instead of going to Tracy, CA, I am heading to SpriMo to get this load repowered and hopefully pick up another student.
