i got hired in june of 2008 to drive for covenant. So far i have been out 2 times. The experience so far is of total chaos and gross mismanagement. Trucks and trailers that are far from good condition. This company would rather keep you in a hotel for a week if you break down rather than get you a truck to go and make money. The dispatchers are no better, clearly idiots at the wheel. They only focus on trainees and trainers since this is the way they make their money. It is difficult to communicate with anyone there, they yes you to death but really have and show no care for you. They hire huge amounts of drivers and this is why they don't care about their turnover rate.
i would gladly work for swift again if i had the chance, if that tells you anything. I warn anyone to saty away from this company, unless toatally necessary.
there are no miles for teams and solos here, they lie and conive you to hire on. I am looking for a better smaller company, since i came off the road 3 years ago and drove locally for 3 years i have to get
recertified, thats why i am here, but not for long...stay away!!!!!!
    be warned.

No, it's not the freight they haul, i am in indy now brokedown, truck in the shop. I got it with problems, but they won't change it, they have other trucks here in indy. They keep you out of the way and give all the freight to the trainers. They are a really cold company to work for. I hope to find a better one soon.

Yep, you're totally screwed.... My advice is, get out of TL and completely away from any of the large training companies.

I would like to find some smaller companies, but they are the ones that fold when the economy turns bad or fuel prices go way up. If anyone can recommend a company that is small and driver friendly i would apreciate the lead. So far in 2 months here, i have been brokedown 4 times. And you would think that they would want me to get in another truck and go make some $$?? Well let me tell you they don't care, been here at the hotel since sat and will be here till thurs/friday.
I strongly recommend everyone pass the word and stay away from this
rathole company. I wish swift would hire me back, at least they would get me another truck to make a living with. Thats about it folks....
Here is sit and stew in my ####.

I think it's because he needs to be re-certified.

AFTER 1 WEEK OF SITTING HERE, THEY CALL ME TO TELL ME THAT THEY WILL SEND SOMEONE FROM THE INDY TERM TO TAKE ME THERE AND DO THE "SMITH SYSYTEM", NOT TO GET A TRUCK, NOT FOR ANYTHING ELSE. SO, YOU SEE HOW THEY THINK, LIKE ##* BACKWARDS #######...........:biggrin_25516:
I HOPE THAT PEOPLE ARE READING THIS.........IF YOU COME HERE IT"S NOT TO WORK OR MAKE MONEY.........IT"S ALL SHOW & TELL. THEY"LL SHOW YOU AND TELL YOU HOW VALUABLE YOU ARE HERE............ZERO UNLESS YOU ARE A TRAINER/TRAINEE THAT THEY CAN MILK UNTILL YOUR SPENT.

I see you know how they conduct there business..........I was hire in June 2008 also...Stayed out a month then came home for my hometime well guess were the heck I am now..The dude I was teaming with decided that he was going solo after he dropped me off...But, the excuse was the truck broke down, then he don't know when he will get here, then family emergency....the whole time the dispatcher would say I don't know when he will be there just sit and wait...Three weeks later you need to talk with him I can't do anything for you I asked what the heck is going on??? I received a letter saying I quit 5 days after he let me out which was a bold face lie....I called in everyday to check in but, only got lies....So go figure who I was dealing with..............
