Swift would take u back If Melton does workout,I graduated swift academy aug 22, There still calling me to work for them, Ive been with Melton 6 weeks-8 day oreintion, 21 day otr with trainer, and 10 otr solo, im currently on my first hometime. If u have any questions about Melton training or whatever just ask.Ps I got first a week ago it a 2016 kenworth 680 with less then 100,000 miles, compare that to a swift truck for a newbie with no experience.

Most companies wouldnt care about a felony that old. U should put ur aplication in at every company. Ps I have a terrible driving record.guess what moving violations are cleared after 3 full years and Duis are clear after 5, guess how i know. Look this is what i did, apply with prime truck co. , they will run a background check called Tenstreet. When they ask for permission to do this, asked for copy to be emailed to u. When u get it look it over,it will show whatever is on ur record.

Spoke to you in the other forum. I can answer some of that. I just transfered over from Reefer to FB. My securement course is going to be the week of the 17th in Phoenix, it is paid . Don't know what starting pay is. It caps out at .52 now (Think that's for 5+ years.)

They claim the average run length is 790miles. Alot of people I've spoken with back that up. I don't know how it works for new drivers, I just had to be cleared by the head of saftey at flatbed and take the course, and switch trucks.

Which as far as I know all new trucks are Cascades evos, and they will either be DD15 with DT 12 AMT. Or Cummins ISX 15 with Ultrashift +. Or either engine with a standard EatonF 10speed. 163XXX (truck number) Cascadias and up have been getting 1800watt inverters. Unless they stopped putting those in. Some of the Cascadias are Midroof, but most of them I have seen lately are all full condo sleeper. Usually one or two storage boxes on each side of the frame, and the headache racks mostly all have 3 doors on them to store stuff.

Older trucks could be anything. SWIFT has been putting old and new lease trucks back in the company fleet for awhile now. I got one of the T680s on the Reefer side.

My 160xxx T680 has a 300watt. And as of about the middle of the year all trucks have cameras, they are just now getting to the last few that didn't.

Was a distribution charge, got it knocked down to possession with intent of a look alike substance. Basically a fake drug charge and the suspension was for failing to maintain liability coverage on a car even after leaving the state, and selling the car. Never bothered to reinstate because my move was to Portland and I walked, rode a bike or took the train/bus. Great city to not drive in.(though 84 is something special in the winter, hope to do it in a truck... Will pack a diaper lol).

I could pass a hair follicle test but it would take a few months. Not because of drug use but because I am bald and shave my head and I wanted to look semi presentable for Swift orientation, so shaved my normally pretty manly beard off. I can grow facial hair quickly. Would take me a month or so, maybe two, for them to be able to take enough hair for it not to constitute as a refusal. And yea I manscape, since I'm sure you all wondered.

If Swift is giving me a shot, I will give them 100%. Let's see how school goes. Never know, they could send me packing on day one before school begins for any arbitrary reason they want. It's happened before.

Just excited to actually get inside a truck and practice the skills I will need. Probably won't be doing a ton of bumping docks with a flatbed, but will still definitely need to be able to do it in a van for the DPS inspector here.

Saw a guy from Melton today who tried to do a blindside back so he could turn around in a loaded Walmart parking lot, with a coil suicide strapped on there. Pretty sure I could have done better. He ignored me when I asked if he wanted me to spot him. Anyway, he was decent enough when he parked the truck after 20 minutes. Hope to be every bit as ####ty at backing a truck here in a couple of weeks. Means I made it that far.
