I've been in my own truck a couple of weeks now, 2nd paycheck due in the morning and I must say I am less than satisfied. I was told this account paid between 650 and 750 a week, I making far less and running my ### of just about every day. Cpm is only .26, keep getting loads that I can't make the appointment time so I wind up being late. Supposed to be doing runs between Phx & LA, past few days was in Sacramento CA and Reno NV, not exactly on the way. Very frustrating....

You know I don't really hear a lot of bad stuff about Werner these days. It use to be a daily or weekly thing.

.26cpm? They paid me that much to run Texas regional in 2003 after training, even running 3k miles that's still less than 800/week.

OTR is worth .35cpm to start.
The average of miles varies heavily. Some weeks 1700, others 2900. You can't strike a rhythm.
Hardly any direct carries, 50% splits to either get guys home or provide Net Ops their pittance. I got my first 1000 (1015) loaded miles trip this week (Fort Mill, SC - Topeka, KS)- 10 months deep into this show.
I'm usually relegated to the Northeast (that's 'home') or the upper Midwest: Ohio, PA, IN, IL. The only good that comes of that is that I'm familiar with the routes - what to take what to avoid; when to take it when to avoid it.

Will do, Trooper. Tho, I'm really working towards getting out. A life trapped sleeping in a truck, stuck on the road, far from home and the people that you care about... isn't much of a life. The dispatchers don't get it... request 12 out 2 off (the minimum rule) and it's always: I'd like you to do 18/3. I've said no more than once, but they're as aggravating about it as an ### rash you have to sit on all day.
Dunno if I'll make the magical year with them. The ire rises each time I'm sent out and argue about when I'm getting back.
