so, basically what the title says. Off 95 a few miles, no low bridges on route, but full size truck with 53' trailer. Rand McNally gps won't route me and atlas says illegal to drive 53' in nyc.
Is it legal to take a 53' trailer into Bronx?

My GPS won't take me over the GW. Will reroute and reroute and reroute until I cross that bad boy. Aggravating.

I mean ive no issues going over the GW or driving the roads in the Bronx. I'm just not interested in getting a ticket for driving a 53' trailer there.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
visit www.nyc.gov/trucks for the official truck routing map of the 5 boroughs...Semi trailer combinations allowed have a max length of 55 feet....there is an allowance for 53' on I-95, I-295 and I-495. and
NOTE: the provisions of 4-15 shall not apply to any f=vehicle authorized by the Federal Surface Transportation Act 0f 1982, as amended, when such vehicle is operating pursuant tot he provisions of the act.
Take is for what it's worth, we operate 53' in the Bronx and out to JFK every day...Last edited: Oct 11, 2016
