People can handle things differently. For me, getting to sleep is hard and falling asleep in a chair would be all but impossible so I have no problem staying awake while I drive. I guess I just never had a problem, physically anyway, with the OTR life.

I look at roofers and ask how they do it, everyone has talents I suppose.

Like the Grateful Dead song "Truckin'"---reds, vitamin C, and cocaine. Not really, though.

The real question is what person in the whole planet can't drive 1 hour and 45 minutes?

Actually pills etc were used. I was one of them once. A box of 40 caffinee (One = two cups of coffee) was not a problem in the container day cab work. One day my body went to sleep on 95 in front of a highway repaving crew putting everyone off north of Doswell. I woke up enough to save some lives including my own. And decided then and there no more day cabs for me. It's sleeper trucks from that point on.

Driving isnt tough. Don't let these super truckers fool you. Its nothing to drive 600 miles in a day, anyone can do it.

If we had no logs to write, we do 1500 in a day Eh? Just like the cars from 3 states away passing by while sleeping on the wheel.

I swear, trucks become luxury like a cloud to do 600. We get old. When I started it was enough to do 300 and 10 days to california. Plenty of time to socailize and visit while traveling. The Nation has been caught in a vise grip of JIT while exporting everything possible so China can work at ten cents a hour rather than pay American 10 dollars a hour.

    No, the driving is easy.

It's just the sheer boredom and fighting off sleep that I would struggle with..

Even though local can be a pain in the ### at times, I really like getting out and being active
