Looks like the "gradual, repeated indoctrination" methodology has worked to a Tee.

100 years ago. No such thing as sleep apnea. Everybody was fine. I guess there were no overweight people then.

10 Years ago, sleep apnea is a weird term some doctors use, and few knew what it meant, never mind what it was. A few "had it"

Today, sleep apnea is the goto diagnosis for every ailment that might include "tiredness" as a symptom by the group the new medical diagnosis was marketed toward.

Congratulations medical community, success. Next? Global warming. Today's indoctrinated kids will be community leaders and business owners soon, and that marketing scheme will be a complete success and will never be questioned once all us old folks die off.

Yes. I get it. Some people "have been cured" by new technology and I'll be the first to admit we are a much heavier society today then we were 50 years ago, and for many, there is a lot of fat where there should not be. But I believe human evolution knows what it's doing and will adapt or correct, or a blend of both.

Have family in medical business, they told me to invest in companies that provide the machines. Told me years ago that would be the next big thing in medicine.

I actually just had a up3 done, it's a surgery where they cut out your uvula and a part of your upper throat, it connects to your nose and throat. Supposidly it makes it easier to breathe and you won't snore as much or at all, which is why people usually wake up. When you sleep your mouth enters a relaxed state where your muscles and tounge relax and prevent normal breathing, usully around the tome you enter rem sleep.

I had a very very mild sleep apnea and the only reason I had it done is because I was having my tonsils taken out so we just figured it's easiest to get this all done at the same time. Recovery is hell though, it's two weeks off work and I can't really swallow my own saliva, so I've been sitting here sipping my liquid drugs and hoping the next day will be better.

If I was you I'd first get my blood sugar tested, it's a known fact for diabetes will make you sleepy even after enough sleep. Sleep apnea test ran me 670 bucks, and I'm 30 , 170 lbs with a 16 neck size. If they get you with sleep apnea I would consider the up3 surgery, I for one could not sleep with a machine up my nose although I know a few people that do and they live the machiene. They wake up fully rested and have much less chance at heart problems down the road. Best of luck, hope you find the reason!

That rule prohibits a driver from operating a CMV while "ill" or "fatigued". If you're falling asleep at the wheel, you're too fatigued to be driving. That rule says you MUST stop and correct the problem (i.e. take a nap) before you may legally continue to drive.

I'm sure the OP's boss would prefer he takes a 10 minute power nap and completes his run SAFELY (albeit slightly behind schedule) than to press on and put the truck in the ditch or take out some other motorists with him when he wrecks. If not, it isn't a boss I'd care to work for.

Ok I understand now thanks for clearing that up.I was a bit confused with what he said to tell company to refer to that rule.Which is more or less what they're doing of they give him grief for driving tired.Anybody who drives for a living whether it's a cab,bus trk whatever should know better then to drive tired.if not for yourself then do it for all the other motorist we share roads with not to mention the law.The results can be very damaging to your career.

    The most important one.

    And the hardest to enforce.
