Most of us don't realize how difficult the English language is.

So English being a difficult language to learn is a excuse to not learn it?

Are Hispanics insisting you learn their language? Most I encounter are apologetic for their inability to speak English and when approached with an open mind actually appreciate help learning our language. Then again, I am fortunate enough to speak theirs so it helps them ask questions and learn.

Its not so easy to learn multiple languages. Here we have English and French as official languages. I studied French for 2 years beyond what was required. The fact that the only regions that speak French in this country are over 1500 km away means I rarely speak it and have forgotten a lot.

No. But we should have some patience. I have met very few who refuse to try. However we need to understand the cultural differences. it has been my experience that most Hispanic men won't attempt anything in front of another man they can't do well, it's a machismo thing.

On this we agree. Im not saying to be abusive or dismissive of someone who is struggling with English but trying. Im saying those who think we must learn another language are wrong. Thats all.

Seriously I have a lot of respect for you based on some other posts, I was just trying to stir the pot and make people think a little.
I really did not mean to insult anyone in particular.

That I can agree with. If you relocate to a new country, you should make an effort to learn the spoken language there. If I were to relocate to another country, I wouldn't expect them to change just to suit me.
