I tried repeatedly to get removed from your list. I'm afraid I can't afford to take the cut in pay rate and the cut in miles I would get if I were to go drive for JB Hunt.

However, I still get the occasional call from JB recruiters. I bought a nice little handheld sports horn, the kind that is also a United States Coast Guard approved sounding device for boats up to 65 feet. It's at least twice as loud as the Screamin' Meanie alarms you see in truckstops. Over water, it can be heard half a mile away. When I get a call from JB recruiter scum, I grab that horn, put the microphone from my handsfree headset about half an inch from the horn's business end, and do my best to make their ears bleed. It doesn't stop the calls, but it does provide a nice diversion from the daily grind.

I called their corporate offices and talked to a manager. They assured me that they had removed my name from the list. I have their name, time, phone number I called, extension and advised them if I received another call, they would hear from an attorney and the federal government since the number they called is on the do not call registry.

It has now been over 6 months.

I find this hard to believe. You would believe people in a phone screening. Even in the application process you can't believe people. I don't get it your company wastes there time and money over this process.

I understand SNI does their back ground before they take their drivers into school. Of course I maybe wrong. That's just the way I read it.

To borrow a line from the great Messiah Obama...."Those types of decisions were above my pay grade". JB Hunt is one of the most profitable trucking companies out there. Dont you think that right there tells you that they know what they are doing?

They dont always wait until orientation to completely run the background check. But it does happen quite a bit. In the many years that was there, I could never tell when they were going to run it all before hand or when they wouldnt. So sometimes you just had to take the word of the driver.
In reality, it shouldnt be a problem at all. You cant tell me that drivers dont know whats on their record. If by chance they lied to me about it and wasted my time. I really didnt feel bad for them if they quit their jobs and went all the way to orientation and then got sent home. Basically they shouldnt have lied to me. Just like you drivers get pissed with recruiters lie to you, recruiters get pissed with drivers lie to them. It seems to be an endless circle and just part of the industry. Personally, Im glad im out of it.

This has been said over and over and over. The ONLY way to be removed from JBs call list is to ask the recruiter to transfer you to the removal dept. They have a couple of ladys there whose only job is to remove drivers from the call list. Yelling and hanging up, really only serves two purposes. It makes the recruiters laugh and gives them a funny story to tell on break and it assures you that you will be called again. Also the horn thing doesnt really work either. The headsets just dont go that loud. On the recruiters end it pretty much just sounds like "not so loud" static. I would think you would be damaging your own hearing blowing a horn like that in a truck cab. So whats the point?
This has been said over and over too. The recruiters over there dont want to call you over and over. They are happy to send you to the removal person if you ask. With that said, if some driver was rude to me and didnt ask, I was also happy not helping him be removed. Knowing that he will be annoyed again.

Eventually it may stop those calls, if they start to remember what they'll get when they call you. I'd like to get 'em with my weather alarm on my CB.

What are their sources of background checks, USIS; what else do they do for background checks or what do you think they might do? :biggrin_25526:

    Thanks for your comments.:yes2557:
