I have the 530 and here recently it's been messing up a good bit it will freeze up sometimes and last night the screen just went black the screen light was still on but the screen was just black. I reset it like three times it came back on would be alright for a couple of secs and would do the same thing every time. I reset one last time and it finally started working again I am just worried that it's about to die any suggestions or thoughts?

1) Have you connected to the dock and tried a "Diagnostics and Repair?" That will check every file on the unit for corruption.
2) Power cord and power socket issues cause what you describe too. Are you using the original factory cord? Or a good 2 amp aftermarket cord? Is it wrapped at least once around the neck of the suction mount arm to eliminate any possible strain? Have you scrutinized the female and male parts of the GPS socket and the cord? It gets loose in one or both of those areas and can be fixed with the squeeze trick. Is your cigarette female socket that the cord is plugged into tight? Those are notoriously loose. You can bend the tabs on the sides of your male device plugs to press harder against the walls of lighter 12 volt sockets to help that. And if you are plugged into a 2-way/3-way/4-way splitter etc, then that can also cause power anomalies / lockups.
Both of the above things can cause your symptom. Those are what I would look at first and then report back here for Mark if you do not find a smoking gun there.CoreyM Thanks this. -
Hi Mark,
I need to factory restore my TND 80.
What do I need to back up so that I have my address book back?
Thanks -
Hey Mark
I am thinking of using my TND-730 in my personal vehicle as a backup camera when I am home,is that doable? If it is, have you done any research on this or know of any systems that will work, preferably wireless.
Any input on this project will be appreciated.
Thanks
