If you stay at the Greater Chicago 55 there is a good Pub/Resturant (Fatty Mcgoos) right across the street, a diner in the truck stop and they have really upgraded their showers and bathrooms. And if it's the preferred freezer I'm thinking of, it's 12 miles away. $10 for the night but Magnum will reimburse....
This is one of their showers

I've seen that place when passing thru Chicago...with showes like that, I might have to stop in some time.

Correction...I was thinking of that $20 pay to park closer to the city for some reason. Up where 290 is...the AF Truck Center...never mind...I've been to the Greater 55...

My former company shares a drop yard on Kedzie avenue just up from that pilot and not far from where you deliver. There is no parking at that pilot. They will run you off if you try to take a 30 there. I used to stop at the ta in Gary when I was coming from that direction. It's as close as you can get before hitting heavy traffic, which makes night runs easier. Avoid 90/94 through downtown at all costs and the others during morning or evening rush and you should be fine.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been to the Tulsa Cold Storage when they weren't busy and had a packed parking lot. And what's worse is they can't expand at that location.

Made it down to San Antonio yesterday afternoon and stayed onsite for my first drop at 0400
Was out of there within an hour and a half and at my second stop 45 minutes early for my 0700....Stood in line for 45 minutes at the guard shack. Told me they will call when they have a door. At 0900 I walked back to the guard shack and she miraculously had a door just then (she forgot about me, no doubt)
Been in my door 1/2 HR and no movement yet... Earning some steak money I guess
Except I have a 1400 appt in South Houston TX headed up to Cavalier, ND... Which is a pretty sweet load... They they better hurry the #### up!!
