I've got all my basic needs down as far as packing is concerned.
I got my CDL A permit, TWIC, OSHA 10, DOT medical 2yr long form and cards.
I have my SS card, birth certificate and licenses.
I have my tax return for my year under self employment as a DBA business, along with client references, county licenses and portfolios to prove work history.
    I've re-studied the CDL briefly.
I've watched several videos on pre-trip inspections, still watching them again today.
I have cash and about $12,000 left in credit cards to tide me over should I need anything.

    Is there anything I'm missing?

Your first born, and a spare arm and a leg. Seriously, Passport if the company goes to Canada or Mexico. Good luck.

Spend a few hours watching backing setups. It makes it easier to understand the process, especially how much the setup varies depending on where the tandems are set at.

    LHJohn Thanks this.

You know. I've spent nearly 15 years in construction. Working from general labor, to fitter, operations manager, owner of a DBA for 2 years now. I specialized in welding, fabrication and fitting. Every new company I worked for, I made more money.

In just about every W2 job I worked, there was always that one individual that claimed that such and such company was better and that I should go work for that company. I always wondered why that person wasn't still working for such and such company. I never did ask them.

I've always had the attitude that career is what you make of it. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to make it work, it just isn't going to work. Sometimes we end up in the wrong direction, then we get steered into a new direction. We never know for sure we took the right path. We just have to have some faith every once in a while that our decisions are right for ourselves and our families, not others.
