I was just hearing about this on the radio. A guy who was working at the station after several years finally got up to $3 an hour over minimum wage. Then throughout the years with continual minimum wage increases he was finally back down 2 minimum wage. It's sad when you're able to make over minimum wage and then you get stuck right back in it even though you've been working there for 10-plus years.

 

No one forced him to work the same dead end job for ten years. In those ten years what did he do to try to better his employment options? Did he put the time and effort into increasing his skill set so to be able to find a better job? Or did he sit on his thumbs thinking the good pay would come by chance?

 

No wonder the driver got a truck.

Driver had to not only drive but also be load planner and dispatcher.

I'd want more of the pie too.

I'm just ragging on you in fun.

All you have to do is read a few threads in here to figure that out .

 

Oh he most definitely pushed for betterment. He has been on the same show for about 15 years. Always going above and beyond. Started out as an intern and worked his way up. He is NOW making more money with a new contract on the same show.

I worded the last post poorly. But they were making the argument that many times minimum wage increases but the pay for everyone else does not.

Gotta learn to pre plan better, can't wait til last minute waiting on high dollar freight. Book out a week always be a couple days minimum ahead.
