So working for Coca-Cola in the Bulk Division, you see alot of vendors throughout your day...

most of them are cool, but I quickly learned it's a very cut-throat and selfish atmosphere in the vending game...

Anyway, at my 7 month mark I've made a list of the most annoying vendors to deal with.

    1. Wine/Tri-Cities: They take forever to check in and there's almost always a problem, plus seeing their little box truck in the dock is infuriating.

    2. Pepsi & Beer Merchandisers: Just when u think you have an area all to yourself to move stuff around, here come these guys to get in your way... Or better yet, block your area with their stuff...

    3. Grocery Store Trucks - Nothing is has soul draining as pulling up to a dock, walking inside, just to hear the sound of another truck pulling up... You hope it's not a Foodlion truck.... It is... Now you have to get out and wait for him and they Food Lion employees to clear out his trailer...

    4. Frito Lay - They pretty much just block everyone's stuff, real jerks...

    5. Grocery Store Employees - They're slow, in the way, and always show up when you're getting ready to move stuff around

When I worked for FirstFleet out of the Kroger DC in Cleveland TN, I delivered dry goods to Kroger stores all over the south east. It always made me smile when I'd pull into a store and there was a bread truck, A Coke truck, and beer truck already there. To see the soul-crushing disappointment on their faces as the store manager told them that I had priority, and they had to wait, brought joy to my heart. There's nothing like having that rock-star VIP status on the grocery store dock.

lol calm down, this was just a lighthearted thread

I did Sideload for one day (trainer got hurt so they asked me to drive for this new guy)

I think I was out there for 14 hrs in total.... In the rain..... Complete Hell, made me so appreciative of my Bulk job..

But sideload makes way more than us bulk guys...

    LOL

I remember when some random Foodlion Truck came to our plant, we all got out and told him he had to move since we have priority hahaa..

I know deep down some guys love that feeling of looking at our puppy dog faces

Hey, if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen! There are a hell of a lot of other driving jobs out there! Instead of snivelling and crying and whining and complaining and yelling and screaming and throwing temper tantrums, get off your butt and go out there and find a job! But first get your itty-bitty truck out of the way! Sheesh, some people's kids...

Calm down, this is a light hearted post, in response to your light hearted thread!:p

I did side load work and the most annoying was the weather and customer making me their stock boy. Yes yes I know it's part of my job but some places it's just drop and go, Walgreens, CVS, dollar stores were annoying.

Those stores i put in in cooler. Sometimes stack some by endcaps. We had merchandisers that did the stocking. They got rid of sideloaders and gave us 35 foot endloaders. Stops were put on pallets. Smaller orders were put in racks. Made jobs easier. Had same issues of finding where to park.

Hey here's an idea. Go drive for a grocery store and be that person who jumps to the front of the line.

Hate when they showed up. Specially vons trlucks. They have 3 delivery trucks and they somehow show up at same time. Was backing to a dock at one store and 1st truck showed up. Waited about 45 min b4 he left. I just hit the dock when 2nd one showed up. So moved out and saw the 3rd truck waiting. So asked the receiver if i can come back later. Went and did my next stop and went back. Their 2nd truck had finish and instead of looking drove out where their 3 rd truck was blocking the alley. So when he backed up he hit a powerpole and knocked it down. If i had stayed the wires would have been over my trailer. I asked the store manager if he wanted me to bring the load thru front. He said no. What a mess that was for them.
