Depending on the study, the average age of a driver is anywhere between 47 and 55. 55 would be at the upper side of the bell, you would be close enough to average age.

No problem. I was in my thirties when I first tried trucking. I didn't stay long but that's another story.
I was past fifty when I decided to take it up again and have had no big hassles physically.
The only little thing was one of my trainers. I had two. The second was twenty years younger but had ten years experience. He clearly got his rocks off bossing me around. Especially in front of the clients who assumed that I was in charge.
It was a very short temporary situation so I just showed him who was the bigger man. -
This occupation has handicap stickers.
