Yea we do but if there isn't a mistake on the load we don't have to print a receipt so it isn't that bad.

Is this, covertly, a masturbation question, Mike?.... Let me tell ya, living in a truck and abstaining from lot-lizards, I could spend a good chunk of time hand holding.... myself.

And I'm young, viral, with an appetite..... Sorry, old dudes.

OH LOL! Goodness no, if you ever get into delivery you have a hand held scanner and we call it a hand held, I never meant for this thread to go into this direction!

We have printers in our truck, because I think same with you guys if there is a mistake I can print out a receipt from my printer in the truck, but I'll be honest I've never once used the printer in my truck I know it works, but I give them a credit and the next time they get a delivery they get credit memo paper work, plus I don't have time to waste with the hand held and computer trying to talk to each other.

LOL I was going to say next thing I know I'll be getting a PM from the mods saying we had to delete your hand held scanner thread. Which honestly I meant it to be a thread about how trouble some or not trouble some the hand held scanners are.

    Right. Anyhow....

We don't use those either. They'd likely be subject to getting lost, or stolen.

I had someone tell me today we're still "old school" using paper.

That happened a couple times at the beer company where drivers had there hand held scanner devises stolen from them, by random people. The thing about those scanners is, they all have a phone number so as long as the battery is going those devises can be tracked and both times they were stolen the devises were tracked down. One idiot stole one and then took it to a bar and was trying to sell it to the bar patrons.

RL Lipton the beer distributor here in Cleveland I think is still on old school Macintosh Style Writer Two paper invoices. Most of there trucks are also 25-30 years old as well and look like it.

That truck certainly isn't the worst I've ever seen.

I thank the good Lord that I retired before those things became popular enough for a small (comparatively) outfit like I worked for, to even consider them!

That's OK there sonny boy! Just because there's snow on the mountain, don't mean there ain't a fire in the furnace!:biggrin_25522::biggrin_2559:

Right. And you expect them to actually BELIEVE that?:D

Looks like there's a lot of life left in that old girl. They are out of business now, (I guess,) but we had one grocery supplier that was driving delivery trucks from the '50's and '60's. This as late as two years ago.
(For that matter, there is a propane outfit about a half mile from my home, that is still using a '66 Chevy tanker for home delivery....)
