I wouldn't go that far. He gets people thinking and talking about things to maximize profit. Nothing wrong with that. And nothing wrong with experimenting for better results. The problem is experimenting takes a good working knowledge of of the mechanics of an engine and most people don't have that. It also can take a good deal of money when dealing with so many unproven products. Some guys are willing to throw a lot of money around seeking results, others are not.

Seriously tho, I'm no supporter of kr. I just don't dislike him as much as most. The way i look at it he has just as much right to make a profit selling his services as the rest of us. Some of the things he preaches are smart with proven results. He didn't make any of them, he just got the word out better than the manufacturers were doing. Things like extended drains with a good bypass filter and oil analysis. Non waste gated turbos. Buying a truck to fit your operation instead of just any truck. Sure many of us have been doing these things for years, but many never heard of them till they got an xm radio. And ya one could argue the industry would be better off without those guys, but I'm off the opinion they have just as much right to try their hand at owning a truck as i did when i first started. -
Like anything else do some homework. I don't take anything for face value.....even KR.
One thing he is dead right about is about the fleece purchse rip offs....and to stay away from them.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Those tolerances are vanishingly small. I understand those decimal numbers from my training with use of a Micrometer. (Something I only used on three engine builds in my life decades ago)
How does a head get corroded? I have to ask because if you have it built with the right metals it should not corrode.
Im very late to this thread. You can get 12 plus miles to gallon east bound in Kansas coming out of Colorado with frontal winds at your back. -

They used a brand of waterless Coolant called Evans. With Evans you run hotter themostats and the coolant temps run around 230* (or thereabouts) all the time. The higher temps allegedly create more efficient combustion and better fuel economy. Of course lots of people here were and remain skeptical of this Evans waterless coolant (google it). So this motor ended up with scored cylinders from excessive heat and corrosion inside the coolant gallerys apparently this waterless coolant must be highly corrosive or something.....
