Last I heard Swift is self insured so I'm not sure where a discount would take place.johndeere4020, 4mer trucker and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
The simulator is where you sit in a regular driver's seat, with a steering wheel but no need for shifting. You essentially are driving an automatic, with surround sound and three large video screens giving you front and mirror views in a wrap around.
True story... I arrived for my winter simulation class with one other classmate. The safety guy starts out by asking what "SWIFT" stands for.
Crickets from my classmate. I KNOW they use it for an acronym having to do with safety, but blurt out, "So Will Insurance Fix This???"
Crickets from Mr. Safety.
"Uh, no... there's a DIFFERENT meaning to Swift..."Ooops, passingthru69, RedRover and 4 others Thank this. -
The guy running the sim can take control of other vehicles with a small steering wheel, and change the weather to his whims.
They are self insured, but it makes em eligable for workforce training grants. Any other company not self insured could get a discount for it. I know I've heard of a few carriers with the things. -
Why anyone would put up with this is beyond me.Hoodoo Voodoo, passingthru69, dclerici1 and 3 others Thank this. -
FerrissWheel Thanks this.

It's not the most annoying thing they've ever done, afterall. But my only complaints come from when I was still in reefer. The same problems don't exist in the flat side as far as I've gathered. Right now it's serving it's purpose. My mangment solves what problems I have, they stay outta the way and throw loads at me. I'm getting .49cpm after bonus.
I have an endgame granted, probably fallish. But really I just don't have any complaints. -
Only mentors teach winter driving, and that's only those of us who have been in it. And that's only those of us who don't shut down at the sight of a snowflake.cnsper Thanks this.
