One of his co-workers must've broke down on the Ohio Pike somewhere. :laughing-guffaw:

I wanna try triples/quads. I've got my LCV cert now, but have yet to actually hook a double-48' set. It's a senior guy thing and the handful of guys that bid it now aren't budging. I'm just here to cover their vacation time.

I'd imagine those tamdem dollies are fun to move around.

Does triples work even pay any extra?

As light as we are, we only use the single-axle dollies. The tandem dollies aren't going to budge by hand, for sure, had to move one of Pepsi's out from in front of our trailer once. I don't know anything about triples, they aren't legal anywhere in NY. We get a few extra cpm for the doubles, though.

    I have a rant.

All those 4 wheelers who can't find the blinker switch.
Who can't seem to find their head lights either.
Who seem to lack all common sense.
Then have the stones to pull out in front of me so they don't have to be behind me.

I was making a left hand turn onto an on ramp the other day, at night, and almost got tboned because some 4 wheeler was driving with no lights on, they turned them on right as they were approaching the intersection, giving me just enough time to stop as i started turning left. a few seconds earlier and they would have hit me, and who do you think would of gotten the blame on that one?

The best is the car companies who made automatic lights that turn on the headlights at night, but dont turn on the parking lights or the tail lights. Then you have people driving with their headlights on thinking all is good, but have no lights at all in the back.

Bob Dobalina, misterG and Mike2633 Thank this.

Yeah, but I find the slow accelaration and hesitation to be true of most automatics, regardless of what brand the truck is. The only ones Ive been pleased with are the Ishift volvos and the 6 speed allison transmissions.

Correct , just putting a red oval on it did not make it a good truck.

Someone just died up here because they ran out of gas and stopped in the travel lane with no lights on. I see minimum 5-6 people driving on interstates every single night, with no lights (except for DRL's). A number of years back, I was nearly stuffed into the trunk of a black Cadillac who pulled out in front of me at night with no lights on (I was on a motorcycle, and was able to dodge it, in a car I would have hit for sure).

Here's the blame assignment as I see it:
    1. Car manufacturers make the instrument cluster illuminated all the time, automatically, rather than with the light switch the way it used to be.
    2. Daytime running lights, that provide enough forward illumination an inattentive driver doesn't realize their lights are not actually on.
    3. Last but not least, drivers who are so distracted by everything and anything that they don't take operating a motor vehicle seriously, and think to turn their lights on in the dark.
